Two Columbus residents allegedly beaten inside home by homeless burglar

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Two Columbus residents are recovering at Midtown Medical Center after allegedly being beaten by a homeless burglar inside of a home on the 3000 block of 3rd Ave. last night, March 28.

According to the police report, the victims were a 72-year-old male, and a 27-year-old female.

The male victim was punched in the face multiple times with a closed fist. He suffered bruises and cuts to the face.

The female victim was punched in the right eye, and kicked in the mouth. She suffered bruises and cuts to her face, a busted lip, and loose teeth.

Both victims were taken to the Medical Center in an ambulance, and are now listed in good condition.

The suspect, 34-year-old Mario Senior, allegedly entered the home through a rear door, and caused $200 in property damage.

The police report also indicates that Senior and the victims are not strangers, and the incident was drug-related, though the type of drugs involved are not listed.  

Senior has not been arrested at this time. He is described as a black male, 6'4" tall, weighing 250 to 300 lbs. He has a low haircut, and was last seen wearing a blue hoodie and blue jeans.
