A "snatch and run" case has Columbus police on the lookout for a wanted man.
News Leader 9's Semone Doughton explains how you could help authorities bring this case to a close.
The suspect entered the Walgreens store on Macon Road around 6:20 p.m. on February 2 and does the unthinkable.
"The cashier went to go into the cash drawer to get change for the other person and the man reached across the counter and grabbed the money out of the cashier's box and ran," said Corporal Deborah Whitley with the Columbus Police Department.
Even though the suspect got away with a undisclosed amount of money, what was left behind were surveillance images of him entering the store, approaching the counter and snatching the money from the register.
But because his identity was not concealed, police are hoping these photos will help them catch their guy.
According to Cpl. Whitley, the suspect is between 20 to 30 years old. He has short dirty blonde hair. He has a medium build and is medium height. He has a tribal tattoo on his right arm and was last seen wearing a black shirt with a rebel flag on the front and a camouflage colored ball cap.
Police believe this suspect may have tried his luck more than once.
"He maybe involved in other robberies. He was pretty strong about doing that. There was no hesitation, he had nothing covering his identity."
And because his identity was "exposed", locating him shouldn't be hard to do. So help police make an arrest and bring this "snatch and grab" criminal to justice.
If you recognize the man in this story you are asked to call Columbus Crime Stoppers at (706) 653-3188.
