RAYTOWN, MO (KCTV) -

Twenty-five years after a Raytown teenager was murdered, a community came together in her honor.

Ann Harrison, 15, was waiting for the school bus in her own driveway when she was abducted, raped, repeatedly stabbed and left to bleed to death March 22, 1989.

She was later found in the trunk of a car. Her two killers were convicted and sentenced to death.

Family and friends gathered Saturday to share memories of Ann. They shared stories about the girl who loved softball and smiled all the time.

"It's important that she never be forgotten. She was an incredible person, and her life was cut short," classmate Kelly Potter said.

Ann's parents also took part. Everyone there chose not to focus on how she died but rather what kind of person she was.

"I just remember she was fun loving, big hearted, smiled all the time, always made you laugh kind of girl. She was just an all American girl," classmate Stacy Crawford said.

One of Ann's killers, Michael Taylor, was executed by the state of Missouri last month. Click here to read more.

Taylor's accomplice, Roderick Nunley, remains on death row. They both claimed they were high on crack cocaine at the time of their crimes.

Nunley, 48, still has ongoing appeals.
