USC Women's Basketball Team leaves for NCAA tournament

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

University of South Carolina fans sent the Gamecock Women's Basketball Team to the NCAA tournament with cheers Friday afternoon.

Cocky, cheerleaders, fans and the USC Band gathered at the Elephant Room entrance to Carolina Coliseum Friday afternoon.  The women's basketball team departed for Seattle for their NCAA tournament game.

Before they boarded the buses, the team had one last practice at the coliseum.

South Carolina's Women's Basketball Team earned its first No. 1 tournament seed in program history. The Gamecocks are in the Stanford Regional. They take on Cal State Northridge in Seattle Sunday.

The game starts at 5:30 p.m. and airs on ESPN in South Carolina and some cities in southern California. WIS News 10's Joe Gorchow is traveling to Seattle for the game and will provide  coverage from the field.
