Motorcyclist injured in accident involving Olathe trash truck

OLATHE, KS (KCTV) -

Police are investigating after a motorcyclist was injured after colliding with a city trash truck.

Olathe police responded to the injury accident at 10:40 a.m. Thursday near Sumac and 114th streets.

When officers arrived, they found the motorcyclist, a 59-year-old man, with injuries to his hands and face. The driver of the trash truck was not injured.

Police said initial reports indicate that the motorcycle was attempting to pass the trash truck when the accident occurred.

The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital with injuries. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
