KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -

Authorities evacuated an office building and cordoned off streets after a suspicious item was detected in an X-ray machine.

This occurred about 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Gateway Tower II office building, which is 400 State Ave, and houses Kansas Legal Services.

The building includes offices for Kansas social workers.

Those evacuated were taken to a nearby building. Crime tape was put up to keep pedestrians away from the area.

The item was left in the X-ray machine.

It was later returned that the item was a defibrillator being delivered to the building.
