Chase ensues after police respond to shots fired call

KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -

A chase ensued Thursday evening when police responded to a shots fired call.

Officers arrived at Tremont Street and Franklin Avenue about 5:30 p.m. The location is northeast of 7th Street Trafficway and Parallel Parkway. When they arrived they found a vehicle whose windows had been shot out, but no injuries were reported.

Moments later police spotted a dark-colored Dodge Charger less than half a mile away at Quindaro Boulevard and 7th Street Trafficway and it appeared as though the vehicle's window had been shot out. The driver fled and police pursued. Speeds reached up to 80 miles per hour.

Police called off the chase when the suspect crossed the state line into Missouri and speeds reached up to 100 miles per hour.
