Police have cleared the scene of a report that a 3-year-old had gone missing during a burglary after officers concluded it was a prank call.
The burglary was reported at a home at 39th Street and Baltimore Avenue just before 1 p.m. The caller said a boy staying at the home was missing following the incident.
As of 1:17 p.m., a KCTV5 crew on scene began hearing word from police that the call may have been a prank. Police investigated to figure out if the claim is true or unfounded and eventually left the scene.
Those who live at the residence had no knowledge of the call, and there was no child missing, authorities said.
