TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Several people were injured, one seriously, after a car hit a school bus on Douglas Road near Grantwood Drive in west Toledo around 7 a.m. Monday.

Police say a car driven by a 17-year-old crashed into the back of a Toledo Public Schools bus stopped to pick up a student. The bus was carrying three people, including a student.

Everyone on the bus only suffered minor injuries. The driver of the car was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.

One witness says he heard a loud boom and came running outside.

"There was already somebody stopping on 9-1-1. There was a gentleman holding her hand through the door. That's about it. I brought a blanket out for her to try to keep her warm, but the man who was holding her hand told me that she was in pretty bad shape. That he couldn't even get the blanket on her she was stuck under the bus so far ," said Ken Shively, who lives near the scene.

The accident is still under investigation.
