Two people were killed in a crash in Douglas County.

The wreck happened about 7 p.m. Saturday about 6 miles east of Baldwin City at the intersection of Douglas County Road 1061 and U.S. Highway 56.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said 53-year-old Rodney L. Strickell, of Wellsville, failed to stop at the intersection and was hit by another car.

Strickell died along with his passenger, 17-year-old Dylan Strickell, of Lawrence.

Troopers said Rodney Strickell was not wearing a seat belt, but Dylan Strickell was.

Three people in the other car, all from Overland Park, were taken to an area hospital.  The extent of their injuries was not immediately available.
