LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Comedian and country musician Tim Wilson died suddenly on Wednesday of an apparent heart attack in Nashville, according to numerous online reports, including thecomicscomic.com. He was 52 years old.
Wilson was a regular performer at Louisville-area comedy clubs.
The Laughing Derby at Comedy Caravan posted a message on its website that read in part, "We are deeply saddened by the loss of Tim Wilson. Tim is synonymous with Louisville comedy, and everyone always looked forward to him performing during Derby Week.Comedy is a big family, and it is always sad to lose a member. Tim Wilson will be missed."
According to bobandtom.com, Wilson was scheduled to perform this weekend in Birmingham, Alabama.
Wilson was considered a premier comedy songwriter who penned songs like Garth Brooks has Ruined My Life. He appeared on Evening At the Improv, Caroline's Comedy Hour, Comedy On The Road, Showtime's Comedy Club Network, Ralph Emery's Nashville Now and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
