A traffic stop resulted in the seizure of dozens of marijuana plants.

A deputy with the Platte County Sheriff's Office pulled over a vehicle about 10:45 p.m. on Feb. 14 after committing several traffic violations while heading south on Interstate 29, north of Platte City.

When the deputy stopped the vehicle, he smelled what he believed to be an odor of marijuana coming from inside of the vehicle.

While searching the vehicle, the deputy found 67 marijuana plants, about 8.5 pounds of marijuana and various drug paraphernalia.

The driver, Joshua A. Quinn, 25, of Castle Rock, CO, and passenger, Joseph D. Willis, 53, of Auburn, MA, were arrested and charged with distribution, delivery, manufacture, production or possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, which is a class B felony.

Quinn's bond was set $25,000 and Willis' was set at $35,000.

Both men are currently in the Platte County Detention Center and scheduled to appear in court on March 4.
