BRIMFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

After serving a 10-year jail sentence in the 1990s for sexually assaulting a child, Daniel Burnett was arrested again by state police Friday for child rape, according to a news release from the Massachusetts State Police Media Relations Office.

The 51-year-old Brimfield resident was arrested following a state police investigation and charged with six counts of rape and abuse of a child and six counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 years old, police said.

The convicted level-three sex offender allegedly sexually assaulted the minor at his Brimfield home on numerous occasions from September to November 2013, police said.

Burnett was deemed a level-three sex offender in 1993 after he was convicted of numerous counts of rape of a child and several counts of indecent assault and battery on a child, according to state police.

The Hampden District Attorney's Office asked anyone with information that pertains to this investigation or Burnett to contact the state police detectives in Hampden County at 413-505-5993.
