A woman remodeling her Lenexa home is now a burglary victim.
The woman said the doors were wide open and the televisions were missing from the home on West 83rd Street near the DeSoto city limits.
Police are looking to determine whether this was a random crime or someone she knew was involved.
The woman, who did not want to be identified, said she wanted to get the word out.
"This is generally a safe place, but if someone has decided to start targeting us we want people to know about it," the woman said.
The woman knew some of the workers, and police are investigating.
"It is a good starting place for investigators to find out who has been in a home recently and you always start from there and work your way out," said Master Patrol Officer Dan Frieson. "It is just as important for us to eliminate as it is to try and identify people who are involved."
He said homeowners should check out anyone coming into your home including carpet cleaners, painters and contractors.
The victim said it is completely unnerving to believe your home is safe and know others have been digging through it. She said she hopes by coming forward she can help protect others.
