(CNN) – Have you ever wondered how the Oscar statuettes are made?
They start out at the R.S. Owens & Company in Chicago. Liquid metal is poured into a cast and moments later, out comes the Oscar.
Each statuette is inspected, polished and given an individual serial number. The entire process takes seven days from start to finish.
The Oscar statuettes are then shipped to Los Angeles for Hollywood's biggest night of the year.
