KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Police are searching for the men responsible for a string of robberies over the weekend.

The crimes started Friday night and stretched into Saturday morning. Five robberies occurred and at least two robberies at local businesses were thwarted.

In the case of individuals being robbed, the men approached them as they were walking and took their cash, wallets and in some cases cell phones, police said.

No one was injured.

Police located a Jeep that apparently was stolen and used to commit the crime. The robbers are described as between 17 and 22 years old, but police did not release additional details.

Some of the robberies were near the University of Missouri at Kansas City. As word spread, some students said they would be even more vigilant.
