SULPHUR SPRINGS, TX (KLTV) -
Two men have been arrested after an East Texas school bus was destroyed in a fire Sunday night.
Sulphur Springs Fire Investigator David James says crews responded to several brush fires and trash fires just before 10 p.m. Around the same time, units were dispatched to a fire at the Sulphur Springs Independent School District bus barn off of North Locust Street.
When firefighters arrived at the bus barn, the entire passenger area of a school bus was engulfed in flames. The bus has been deemed a total loss.
Two adult males were questioned in connection to the bus fire and other small fires that were started in the area. Both men face second degree felony arson charges. Their identities have not yet been released. Investigators were able to identify the men based on witness reports leading up to the fires.
A third suspect was also questioned and will face unrelated charges.
