Violent night in metro leaves 2 dead, 1 with serious injuries

A man was found dead in a car at North 26th Street and Orville Avenue. A man was found dead in a car at North 26th Street and Orville Avenue.
Another fatal shooting happened near 5th Street and Parallel Parkway. Another fatal shooting happened near 5th Street and Parallel Parkway.

It was a violent night in the metro with several shootings.

There was a fatal shooting near Fifth Street and Parallel Parkway in Kansas City, KS, that happened about 1:15 a.m. Saturday.

Officers say 46-year-old Miguiel E. Powell was found shot to death in a car. So far there have been no arrests in this.

KCK officers were also called to North 25th Street and Minnesota Avenue about 9 p.m. Friday to reports of shots fired between several vehicles.

Officers began to search the area for the vehicles involved and found one of the cars at North 26th Street and Orville Avenue, about a half mile away. Inside the car, police found 19-year-old Ti'yuan T. Donnell dead.

Police don't believe the two KCK shootings are connected.

On the Missouri side, one person has serious injuries after a triple shooting.

It happened at East 11th Street and Cleveland Avenue about 3 a.m. Saturday.

Officers responded to a shots fired call and found three people hurt. The second and third victims have minor injuries.

There have been no arrests.
