TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Police continue to search for fresh leads into the 2012 disappearance of Isabel Celis. On Thursday, Jan. 16, officers spent their second full day of going door to door and re-interviewing neighbors.

Isabel's parents, Sergio and Becky, were happy new detectives are taking on the case and hope fresh sets of eyes will help bring their daughter home sooner.

"It's good for them to have the public see them in this way and being a little bit proactive," Sergio Celis said. "Let's get the job done boys. We want this over, we wanted this over a long time ago. Get a little push. I'm not going to say anything negative about this, this is only positive."

"This has to bring something in so I would expect tips will come in a little more than they have been. But hopefully out of everything, someone will see her face and say yes I do know what happened and call 88-crime or somebody," Becky Celis said.

Dozens of officers hit the streets in their multi-day deployment. They are re-interviewing neighbors and showing a shoe print they're hoping someone may recognize.

When talking to neighbors on Thursday, many were pleased officers are re-visiting the case but others like Jonel Lauver wonder why it took so long to do this kind of exhaustive follow-up.

"They were showing us possible shoes it could've been and asking us if we remembered anyone wearing shoes like that 19 months ago," Lauver said. "So, it was very frustrating because I'm sitting here trying to think and I'm not going to remember something like that."

Police say their effort is going really well and they'll probably be finished before Saturday night which is what they originally anticipated.
