Police are looking for answers after a 3-year-old girl died.
Merriam police aren't saying much, but they did confirm that they are investigating the death of a 3-year-old who lived in apartments on West 51st Terrace.
Police responded to a medical call last week in one of the apartments. Paramedics transported the girl to the hospital, but she later died. Police aren't saying when she died, but neighbors say she died a few days after she was taken to the hospital.
Neighbors also said a woman and her three children lived in the apartment with her boyfriend.
They said all of the police in the complex put neighbors on alert.
"I saw them put her in the ambulance and then all the police came. They even set up the crime scene van," Hashem Abbas said.
Neighbors say the children often played in the yard.
Police are trying to determine if there was any foul play.
