Hours after being indicted last Friday, Hamilton County Juvenile Court Judge Tracie Hunter said in an email to court staff "that many of the changes I made or was in the process of making were not always welcome."
Hunter told the staff "it has been my humble pleasure to serve you. Many of you expressed and understood that Hamilton County Juvenile Court was not ready for its first African-American and Democrat Judge. I have learned and understood that change is difficult for most people, especially after 110 years.
A Hamilton County grand jury last Friday indicted Hunter on eight felony charges.
The email was sent at 4:57 p.m. Friday with the subject line "THANK YOU AND GOODBYE FOR NOW."
FOX19 received the email after filing an open records request.
Hunter also said "change has never come easy; and always comes with great personal and professional sacrifices and cost. As you know, I am committed to my faith; therefore, even in this, my trust is in not in man, but in God."
Hunter will be arraigned at 8:30 a.m. Friday in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court.
