BONNER SPRINGS, KS (KCTV) -

The Bonner Springs city council voted unanimously Monday night to end the city's ban on pit bulls.

It all started last April after animal control picked up a pit bull named Titan running loose.

That 3-year-old pit bull belonged to Bonner Springs resident Debi Baker.

Titan was taken to a Lawrence animal shelter. City officials told Baker she had 15 days to find Titan another home because Bonner Springs didn't allow pit bulls.

Baker started lobbying city officials to get Titan back. In November, the city's animal task force recommended the city end it's pit bull ban.

The changes take effect Jan. 16.
