Shooting sparks high speed chase

KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -

Two car chases on both sides of the state line end with several in custody.

It all started shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday in the 1800 block of Ridge Avenue where Kansas City, KS, police saw two cars speed off after gun shots.

One of the cars crashed a few blocks away at North 18 Street and Grandview Boulevard.

Police said all occupants fled from the vehicle and ran to the 1100 block of Ella Avenue where they were arrested.

Two of the parties suffered from gunshot wounds and were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers continued to pursue the second vehicle into Missouri where police stopped them at Grand Boulevard and East Second Street near the Kansas City River Market. 

Police arrested three people from this scene.

At this time, the shooting remains under investigation and it is unknown if or how the suspects in the two cars are related.
