Chesterfield man who led charge against drinking arrested for DUI

The leader of a Chesterfield organization which fights alcohol and drug abuse has resigned after being arrested for driving under the influence.

Wayne Frith was charged in November with DUI in Hopewell, according to police. He was a leader with Chesterfield's Substance Abuse Free Environment Inc., a group that fought substance abuse for youth for nearly a decade.

Frith was arrested in November near a Rite Aid Pharmacy on Oaklawn Boulevard for DUI, according to Hopewell Police. He resigned from SAFE last month.

Frith is set to appear in Hopewell court in March on the DUI charge.
