KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

One man is dead following a single-vehicle accident on the city's southeast side.

The wreck happened just before 11 a.m. Tuesday on westbound Highway 350 near Northwest Colbern Road.

Police say 59-year-old Walter Roher of Lee's Summit, MO, was driving a Ford F-350 pickup when for some reason he lost control going around a slight curve in the road.

His truck slammed into some exposed rocks just off the side of the highway.

Roher was rushed from the scene in an ambulance and later died.

Police say the stretch of highway where the accident happened was dry and did not have any ice on it.

Investigators are also looking into whether Roher might have had a medical problem.

There were no witnesses to the accident.

Colbern Road reopened just before 5 p.m., police said.
