A man in his 50s has died and two other people were injured after a two-car crash on Route 44 in Norfolk Monday afternoon.
The head-on crash was reported on Route 44 in the area of Ashpohtag Road just before 3:30 p.m.
A Cadillac Escalade crossed the middle lane and collided with a Cintas delivery truck, police said.
The male driver of the Escalade was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash while a female passenger was taken by Life Star medical helicopter to Hartford Hospital. Her condition is unknown at this time.
The driver of the Cintas delivery truck was also injured in the crash. However, it is unclear how seriously the driver was injured.
Route 44 remains closed in the area of the crash for several hours while police investigated the crash and crews cleared debris. Route 44 reopened at about 8 p.m.
