Pedestrian struck by car in Amherst

First responders were called to the scene of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle Saturday evening.

Police on scene told CBS 3 that the victim was taken to Baystate Medical Center after the crash, which happened shortly before 7 p.m. on North Pleasant Street.

Police said all parties have been identified in the incident and confirmed that it was a male who was struck.  They do not believe his injuries are life threatening.

The portion of North Pleasant Street where the crash happened was closed to traffic while state police investigated.
