A structure fire occurred Wednesday night in the Cincinnati neighborhood of Winton Place.
Authorities responded to the three-story wood frame apartment complex at 4880 Winton Rd around 9:30 p.m. Upon arrival, smoke was coming from the third floor of the building.
The fire was on the second floor of the building and was put out after an aggressive attack by crews. The cause of the fire was determined to be combustible materials left too close to an operating stove.
The damage, estimated at $20,000, was limited to the kitchen, with smoke damage throughout the apartment. One occupant is displaced due to the fire and is being assisted by the Red Cross.
