College Graduates are Encouraged to Apply for "Virtual Internships" with WeScore.com and Receive up to $35,000 in Debt Relief
KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Dec. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Startup company WeScore is shattering the traditional internship compensation model through an eight week social media internship by offering an unprecedented opportunity: student loan debt payoff to the highest performers, along with a weekly stipend.
Many millennials are unaware that their generation faces more student loan debt than any generation before them. In the midst of worsening student loan debt and lower median incomes (Middle Class Security Project), the millennial generation is the first in American history expected to experience lower living standards than their ancestors.
WeScore exists to make a significant financial difference for the middle class. In this case, WeScore is targeting those with student loan debt through a competitive virtual internship. The interns will be broken into eight teams, led by current employees who have worked with the company since early 2013.
Each member of the top performing team will receive student loan debt payoff of up to $35,000. However, this internship is not limited to students with loan debt. If a winning team member does not have student loan debt, he or she may pay it forward by allocating the winnings to a student loan debt holder of his or her choice.
WeScore has been taking a radically different, proactive approach and setting its own example of change in the business world. For example, rather than using free student intern labor, WeScore has been paying its more than a dozen interns from the University of Tennessee $22 per hour, or 3x the national minimum wage of $7.25 per hour.
"At WeScore our mission is to deliver intelligent information intelligently – where anyone can buy with confidence almost anywhere, enabling individual opportunity around the world," states WeScore CEO, Jacqueline Stanfill. Until now, corporations and sales representatives have held exclusive market power because they have information middle class consumers either don't have or can't understand. WeScore will irreversibly change the way that information flows and pioneer new ways for consumers to receive intelligent information from any connected device.
Ms. Stanfill comments on this significant financial opportunity for the middle class: "Today, we are not going to spend a great deal of your time talking about us. We stand ready to lead by example and act out our mission. We exist to change lives, and we are starting with those that have acquired student debt."
