SHAWNEE, KS (KCTV) -

Police have captured a person of interest in a Shawnee bank robbery.

Shawnee police spokesman Bill Hisle said a man, dressed in camouflage and armed with a sawed-off shotgun entered the Intrust Bank located at 19501 W. 65th Terr. about 1:30 p.m. Monday and demanded money.

Shawnee police say he then ran away into an area north of the bank.

At least a dozen police cars lined a Shawnee neighborhood near West 63rd Terrace and Stephenson Street. Police combed a wooded area directly behind a subdivision.

They used the helicopter and K-9 officers to search for the suspect.

Authorities say they found a man who they are calling a person of interest about 3 p.m.

No injuries were reported, and police aren't saying if there were customers inside the bank when the robbery happened.
