Local group wants names of overseas soldiers to send care packages

Posted: Updated:
GRAIN VALLEY, MO (KCTV) -

Do you know any soldiers overseas this Christmas? Then a local group wants to hear from you.

Every holiday season, the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association puts together care packages for troops. They have so much money ready to go for the effort that they need more people to send the packages to.

If you want to contribute a name, email nikki_johnson@ooida.com.

You can also send cards and letters to Truckers for Troops, P.O. Box 1000, Grain Valley, MO 64029.

Towns or school names can be included, but please do not include last names or other personal information.

While socks and snacks top the list for most troops' care packages, cards and letters from home are what make them truly special. Packages will likely go out after the holidays in January or February.
