COLUMBIA, MO (RNN) - Missouri had no problem grabbing the lead at the start of the game and holding on to it the entire time, soundly defeating Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis 78-64.

The Tigers (5-0) led the Jaguars (1-5) 47-34 at the half. IUPUI attempted to keep up with Mizzou in the second half, cutting their deficit to eight points with less than 11 minutes left. But the Tigers held onto the lead, jumping ahead by 14 points with 4 1/2 minutes left.

Mizzou made half of its field goals, eight of its 19 3-pointers and 14 of its 18 free throws. IUPUI made only half of its 10 free throws and five of its 19 3-point attempts.

Jabari Brown led the Tigers with a career-high 24 points, and Jordan Clarkson came in a close second with 22 points.

This was the fifth and final game the Tigers played without head coach Frank Haith, whom the NCAA suspended for five games for his role in a scandal when he was head coach at Miami.

Mizzou and IUPUI are both part of the Las Vegas Invitational, and both teams will travel to Nevada this Thursday and Friday. Mizzou will take on Northwestern on Thursday.
