Posted: Updated:

Several city and county offices in the Grand Strand and Pee Dee are observing the Thanksgiving holiday, and that may affect the day your garbage is collected.

In the City of North Myrtle Beach there will be no trash service on Thursday, Nov. 28. Residential and commercial customers that usually have trashed picked up on Thursday will have trash pickup on Friday, Nov. 29.

All Horry County offices, other than public safety operations, will be closed on Thursday, November 28, 2013, and Friday, November 29, 2013, in observance of Thanksgiving. Regular courts may be in operation in the Horry County Government & Justice Center, and all jurors, witnesses, etc. will be required to be present.

All branches of the Horry County Memorial Library System will close Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 5 p.m. and will remain closed through Saturday, Nov. 30. Also, the L. W. Paul Living History Farm and the Horry County Museum will be closed on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013.

City of Myrtle Beach offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28 and 29. Solid waste and recycling will be collected as usual on Monday and Tuesday in Zones 1 and 2. However, Zones 3 and 4 both will receive service on Wednesday, Nov. 27. No solid waste services will be provided Thursday or Friday, Nov. 28 or 29.

City of Darlington offices will be closed on Nov. 28 and Nov. 29 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Trash pickup will be delayed to Friday.
