HOLYOKE, MA (WSHM) -

One of the state's most wanted sex offenders has been arrested in Western Mass.

State police told CBS 3 Roberto Jimenez Jr. was arrested Tuesday morning in Holyoke after police found him hiding in a closet.

He was convicted of two counts of rape of a child under 16 in 2006 after he met a 12-year-old boy in a chat room, saying he wanted to meet and play video games, and then sexually assaulted him.

After serving his time he failed to register as a sex offender in Holyoke.

State police say tips have been coming in since the offenders' names and descriptions were released by the media.

Meanwhile a second suspect with local ties to Western Mass remains at large.

Steven Michael Cooper is wanted by Springfield police in connection with a rape that occurred in the city in March of 2008.

If you know his whereabouts do not approach him. Call state police at 1-800-KAPTURE.
