PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Authorities say a severely abused pit bull found in northwest Phoenix last week is getting a new home.

Maricopa County Animal Care and Control spokeswoman Melissa Gable said the dog, being called Frankenberry, was picked up near 51st Avenue and Thomas Road last Wednesday.

Authorities believed the dog was abused and he lost an ear from his injuries.

He was treated at the Valley Animal Care Center and is expected to be adopted on Wednesday.
