RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

The FBI is looking for a man seen on video engaging in sexually explicit activities with a child.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children discovered the video online in April and have seen the images circulating on online child pornography forums ever since.

During the video a man, known only as John Doe 27, can be seen briefly. Investigators hope the image will help the identify him and recover the exploited child.

"These types of individuals typically don't stop with one victim," said Special Agent Shanna Daniels, who is investigating the case. "That's why we need to catch him before other children are victimized."

The FBI and NCMEC have enhanced images from the video showing John Doe 27's face. They can also tell the subject and the victim appear to be inside a residence with a distinct plaid chair in a corner, which they hope someone familiar with the house might recognize. They also think the man refers to himself as Jimmy in the video and may have a Southern accent.

John Doe 27 appears to be a white male, possibly in his 40s or 50s, with dark hair and dark eyes. Right now, investigators can't link the suspect to a particular state or region of the country.

"The only thing we can say for certain is that this guy is an offender," she added, "and we need to stop him."

Anyone with information about this individual should submit a tip on our website or call the FBI's toll-free tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
