Flagstaff police: Woman likely died from overdose

Posted: Updated:
FLAGSTAFF, AZ (AP) -

Authorities say a woman whose body was found near a Flagstaff hotel possibly died of a drug overdose.

Flagstaff police say two men have been arrested in the case.

The name of the woman hasn't been released yet.

She was last seen panhandling with an unidentified man around 7:30 a.m. Saturday near Interstate 40.

Her body was found Sunday morning in an area behind the Little America Hotel.

Police say it doesn't appear to be a homicide and indications are the woman died from an accidental overdose.

They say Joseph Kachel and Gary Wangler were arrested Sunday.

They're being held in the Coconino County Jail on $25,000 cash-only bond on suspicion of abandonment and concealment of a dead body.

Police didn't immediately know Monday if the men have lawyers yet.
