GLENDALE, AZ (CBS5) -
Police are asking for the public's help in identifying two "persons of interest" in connection with the shooting of a 16-year-old boy in a Fry's Food store parking lot on Sunday.
Police are trying to find at least two people who were seen on surveillance photos from the night of the shooting at the Fry's at 4329 W. Northern Ave. in Glendale.
Police said they were in a dark colored, four-door sedan. The vehicle stopped in front of the Fry's entrance. People got out of the vehicle briefly and then got back in and headed onto Northern Avenue. Police said the vehicle then headed eastbound toward 43rd Avenue.
The two occupants seen getting out of the vehicle are both described as dark-skinned men wearing light-colored shirts.
Police said the victim had apparently approached the suspect car when he was fatally shot, police said Monday.
When authorities arrived around 12:30 a.m., they found the teen lying on the ground. He was rushed to a nearby trauma center where he died. The victim is from Glendale, but because he's a juvenile, officers said they are not releasing his name.
The motive for the shooting remains unclear.
The persons of interest are described as dark-skinned men, wearing light colored shirts.
Anyone with information is asked to call Glendale police at 623-930-3000 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
