Man dead after double shooting outside KCK bar

Posted: Updated:

One man is dead after a double shooting early Tuesday morning outside of a KCK bar.

Investigators are focusing their investigation behind the 20 Men's Club. When they arrived, they found one man in his 20s dead from gunshot wounds outside the bar.

Someone called 911 to report the shooting near North 13th Street and Quindaro Boulevard just after midnight.

Officers say another man was shot near the bar. He got into a car to be taken to a nearby hospital.

Emergency crews found him in the car near North Fifth Street and Washington Boulevard. They took him to the hospital because he also had gunshot wounds.

"We do believe he was here when he was struck. We don't know his involvement at this time. We do not know if he was an innocent bystander that just happened to get struck by a bullet," Officer Tom Tomasic said.

Police have not released the name of the man who died at the scene. They also did not release any suspect information.

Because the shooting happened outside the bar, they are still searching for possible witnesses.

The Kansas City, KS, Police Department's Major Case Unit is encouraging anyone with information regarding the incident to please call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
