Virginia governor's race enters final hours

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Virginia gubernatorial candidates Terry McAuliffe and Ken Cuccinelli are making their last push before election day.

McAuliffe and Senator Mark Warner will kick off a canvass to get out the vote on Laburnum Avenue, while Ken Cuccinelli will rally with Rep. Ron Paul at the Richmond Convention Center.

President Barack Obama hyped the crowd at Washington-Lee high school Sunday, as McAuliffe supporters cheered on the President and their pick for Virginia's next governor.

"Are you going to be willing to outwork and out-hustle the other folks, because I guarantee you, Terry McAuliffe is going to be outworking and out-hustling the other guy," President Obama boasted to a crowd of McAuliffe supporters.

Republican candidate Ken Cuccinelli rallied with supporters in Roanoke, Harrisonburg, and Lynchburg while targeting the Affordable Care Act.

"If you want to fight Obamacare, if you want to tell Washington that Virginia's had enough Obamacare, I need your vote on Tuesday. And I need you to bring a bunch of other folks to vote on Tuesday also", said Cuccinelli.

The Libertarian candidate, Robert Sarvis, gained steam in Richmond at the 17th Street Farmer's Market. Although Sarvis is hovering around ten percent of voter support in recent polls, that's strong showing for the party.

"Certainly, getting above ten percent will do a lot for Virginia's political system. If the Libertarian party is able to get major party status, then we'll have a more competitive political market," said Sarvis.

Sarvis urged his followers to choose a third option for Virginia's top spot.
