Mt. Hood turned into a winter wonderland on Saturday as the season's first winter storm swept over it.
A winter weather advisory was in effect until 6 p.m. Sunday as forecasters predicted between 8-12 inches of snowfall for levels above 3,000 feet.
Shelly Alway drove up to Timberline to get her season ski pass and check out the snow.
"What a great day to come up and get some of the first snow and be ready to go skiing," she said.
Businesses in Government Camp were expecting more customers and are gearing up for the busy season.
"It's very exciting," said Leah Bonaduce, a server at Huckleberry Inn Restaurant. "Everyone's been waiting for it. It's been a really long summer so we've been expecting it and it's nice it's finally arriving.)"
Roads were slick and snowplows were out Saturday night to keep them clear.
