WEST BRANCH, MI (WNEM) -

Prosecutors in Ogemaw County have charged a county correctional facility employee with two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct involving two female prisoners.

Authorities said 73-year-old James Raymond Gustafson, of Gladwin, was arrested and arraigned on the charges on Friday.

Prosecutors stated that each charge alleges that Gustafson engaged in sexual contact with two female inmates of the Ogemaw County Correctional Facility while he was an employee of the Ogemaw County Sheriff's office/department of corrections.

Prosecutor LaDonna Schultz said Gustafson was a supervisor for the sheriff's work program when the offenses were allegedly committed.

If Gustafson is found guilty, each charge carries a maximum penalty of up to 15 years in prison.

Schultz said anyone with further information concerning the case can contact the Michigan State Police at 989-345-0955.
