Springfield man arrested for impersonating a police officer

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

A Springfield man is under arrest after allegedly impersonating a police officer.

Springfield Police said Mitchell Johnson, 43, was pulled over during a routine traffic stop.

During the stop, a woman approached police and said he offered her a ride home and when she got in the car he told her he was a police officer and put his hands down her shirt.

Johnson is also being charged with possession of a fire arm without a license and assault and battery on a person over the age of 14.
