Glendale man accused of abusing dog during fight with girlfriend

GLENDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

A Glendale man is facing multiple charges after police say he hit a family dog into a wall during a domestic dispute.

Alvin Scott Bennett, 24, allegedly pushed his girlfriend in the chest on Sunday and then picked up the family dog by the leash, hit the dog into the bathroom wall, and then dropped the dog, according to police.

The victim called police and Bennett was arrested at the home on charges of felony animal cruelty and misdemeanor assault charges.

Bennett admitting to pushing his girlfriend but denied hitting or kicking the dog, according to police.
