MIAMI (WSVN/CNN) - According to Sports Illustrated, shortly after the New England Patriots defeated the Miami Dolphins on Sunday afternoon, a subpoena was served to one of the players.
Massachusetts state police reportedly issued a subpoena to Dolphins center Mike Pouncey.
According to Sports Illustrated, the subpoena relates to a murder investigation involving former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez.
Hernandez is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd.
Sports Illustrated reported, a police official told Pouncey the subpoena is quote, "about a grand jury investigation."
That doesn't mean the Dolphins player is being charged with a crime or that he's accused of wrongdoing.
Pouncey and Hernandez were teammates at the University of Florida.
