One man is dead and a second man was injured after shots rang out overnight at a Kansas City tavern.
The gunshots were reported at 12:02 a.m. Friday at the Las Plebas VIP at 12th Street and Bellefontaine Avenue.
Saturday, police identified the victim as 29-year-old Guillermo Baylon-Olivares. Police also said that 22-year-old Gabriel Ortega-Cobos was charged by Jackson County prosecutors with first-degree murder, first-degree aggravated assault and two counts of armed criminal action.
The second victim was a Hispanic man in his 40s. His injuries were not considered serious.
Prosecutors requested that Cobos' bond be set at $250,000 cash only.
