OLATHE, KS (KCTV) -

The family of a 22-year-old Olathe man who vanished three days ago says it is out of character for him to disappear without a trace.

Brad Cook's parents describe him as a hardworking man who works full time and attends college in the evenings.

He loves motorcycles and his family, particularly his twin brother.

Cook's father, Jeff Cook, said his son's customized Harley Davidson was his pride and joy. It is now parked in his garage.

The motorcycle, a shared hobby between father and son, now serves as a constant reminder of Brad Cook's disappearance.

"It is very scary to know that your son is missing and has been missing for 48-plus hours and not knowing either way what has happened to him," Jeff Cook said.

Jeff Cook said he and his son spent the day together, first having breakfast at a local Waffle House and then riding their bikes to a few sports bars. Later that evening, he got a text message from his son letting him know he was home.

"We later learned that he went back out with some friends, and he texted me again that he was back home. Later on that evening, he was missing. We didn't hear from him," he said.

Brad Cook's bike was found late Sunday night near CR Cycle Tires in De Soto. That was when his family reported him missing.

"The hard part for us is just the not knowing, one way or the other, as horrible as that sounds," Jeff Cook said.

But for now, all the family can do is check their phones for messages and hope for a break in the case.

"We don't have any leads right now. None, so any leads, anybody who's seen him, anything right now, that's what we need," Brad Cook's mother, Nancy Cook, said.

The family says they'll continue organizing search parties around De Soto. They're also asking farmers throughout the area to check their property as well.

Cook is 6'3", 185 pounds with short brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, a black sweatshirt, black boots and a black bandana.

Anyone with information can call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
