Firefighters battled a large fire Saturday at a Gladstone restaurant.
Fire officials said Smokehouse Bar-B-Que on North Oak Trafficway and an adjacent thrift shop caught fire about 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
Witnesses said, when the fire initially broke out, the restaurant was fully on fire.
"Next thing you know, the whole entire roof was engulfed in flames," Michael Carboneau said. "As far as I can tell, everyone was out, the manager was clearing everyone out and everyone was pretty far away from the restaurant. Luckily three different city's (fire departments) showed up and the fire was contained pretty fast."
The cause is still under investigation.
