Petunia went 'wee, wee, wee' all the way to her forever home

MERRIAM, KS (KCTV) -

Petunia the pot-bellied pig is now luxuriating in her new forever home.

Petunia was found wandering around a Merriam park last month. After a stint at the Great Plains SPCA animal shelter in Merriam, she was adopted on Wednesday.

After KCTV5's Sandra Olivas reported about Petunia's plight, the shelter got an overwhelming response from folks wanting to give Petunia a forever home.

The shelter chose someone who has experience with swine.

"Although the adopter chose to remain anonymous, she's a wonderful, well experienced pig parent and I know is going to provide a great home to Petunia," said Shannon Blizzard of the Great Plains SPCA.

This is the first pig that the shelter has even taken in and adopted out.
