KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Authorities said a 28-year-old Kansas City woman who was abducted by her ex-boyfriend has been found, but she was badly beaten.

Police are still looking for the man who kidnapped her.

Officers were called about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday to her home on East 81st Street and Flora Avenue.

Authorities said her ex-boyfriend showed up at Antoinette Leak's home, dragged her to his car and started beating her. He then drove off with Leak in the car.

They drove around the area of East 75th Street and Prospect Avenue, and Leak was able to escape once, but the ex-boyfriend pulled her back into the car.

The whole community was out looking for her.

"I never thought he would do nothing like this, but he took it to another level. I'm sorry for him, but I'm more scared for my daughter because I don't know what he's capable of doing," Leak's step-father, Ronald Mitchell, said.

Leak called a family member just before 7 a.m., and said she was able to escape near the Dollar General at East 75th Street and Prospect Avenue.

Leak had been beaten badly and was taken to the hospital.
